I hate to say it, cause it affects my job prospects also, but with the slow down in the stock market, and the wising up of investers the PHP jobs are getting smaller and smaller along with all "web" jobs. I'd suggest that you invest some time in learning some system langugaes while still in college (C/C++, JAVA) so that you have a chance at getting a job. The internet boom days are over which isn't a bad thing, it just means that there are fewer jobs, and they are going to the most qualified people. But those jobs that still exist should have a much better survivability rate the alot of the dotbombs that went down over the last year.
