anyone know the location of any COMPLETE newbie tutorials for php? i don't even know what php stands for ffs!
The book "PHP Essentials" is better than any web tutorial, PLUS it'll cost you $39.95. Read it twice. At least. And FORCE yourself to read the manual.

Once you start learning the basics http://www.php.net/manual/ will become your friend.
