I've been trying to write a function to email a customer with orders information.

The function works fine but when I use \t for a tab it shows up fine in Outlook 2000 but outlook express seems to ignore it totally.

Is there a better way to display formatted text in an email without using HTML??

Ultimately, no. Since it comes down to whether the user uses fixed or variable width fonts in their email client - and which fonts they use - you have no control. That said, you'll have a better chance if you use spaces instead of tabs.
