Homesite & carraige returns!

I'm using homesite to edit my php and html files online. But I find that everytime I open a file there's a gap after every line, it's as if HS is inserting a carraige return at the end of every line?

Is there any way to stop this or has anyone heard of it before.

Building php sites online isn't the best method! If you can try to build them offline!
But do you hava troubles with the CR? if so is it lay-out only, or do your programs not work??

Six months ago, I decided to use the new HomeSite version (4.5) and saw this problem. I never found how to solve it. My only solution was to uninstall HS4.5 and reinstall HS4.01, wich works great.

I noticed another problem with HS4.5, when you uninstall it, you MUST unregister some DLL's manually (this is a allaire's known problem). Explanations on the allaire's website.

As a conclusion, I don't know what to do, just to install a previous (and more stable) version of a great but very bugy software 😉

I hope I can help you all here... occaisionally I used to get this, although I always thought it was a problem with WS FTP. If you transfer the files as binary mode instead of ASCII mode it works fine. Now I only have a problem with homesite and quirky tab spacing 🙂

I think it\'s a problem with binary/ascii. Play around a bit. Maybe that will work.

BTW: Just set up apache/php/mysql on your own machine to speed up testing and debugging: much easier and faster!
