Microsoft Outlook - how to get e-mail

If you're lucking enought also have access to a UNIX machine, you could setup an inbox-filter to auto-forward those emails to the unix machine and have PHP (or any other scripting language) pick up the email and process it automatically.

Every day I recieve several very long e-mails to my Inbox - Microsoft Outlook. I copy these messages into files (just copy and paste).

My php script parses files and find certain things.

I am unhappy about this copy-paste. I wonder if somebody dealt with Microsoft Outlook. How I can get to those e-mail messages and make text files out of them?

I have access to the unix machine, but I do not realize the details how to do it.

On my windows machine I have Microsoft Outlook where I recieve my e-mails. Maybe Outlook has some function automatically redirect my mail to the unix machine? But how..

Also how to get it on the unix machine? Are there some mail functions? I am a beginner in Unix..

My file parsing script is on the unix machine and it runs automatically (I added a cron job in crontab).

The only problem to get an input for the script... 🙁(((

In Outlook you have the Possibility to write macros in VBA.

Try out the eventhandler

Private Sub Application_NewMail()
End Sub

In there you can write out every new mail out in a file.

a other way would be to defin a macro which copies out the selected mail, therefore you could customize the form with a new button
