include_path. PEAR

"Failed opening 'database.php' for inclusion (include_path='c:\php\pear')"
I have my htdocs in c:\apache\htdocs but want to be able to use PEAR also.

the problem:
I want to use PEAR and to be able to include files from other paths. I tried setting two paths: "c:\apache\htdocs\;c:\php\pear" but then I cannot include in subdiretories to htdocs --> in htdocs\hci\

Must I include a path to ALL folders and subfolders or leave out PEAR? Or can I use some sort of wildcard or...?

Howdy,

set your include_path = .:/path/to/pear

the . covers the present working directory (pwd). if you're familiar with $PATH in Unix, think of the include_path as the same for .php files.

This works in windows too. Write: ".;c:\php\pear"

this info is mainly for people searchig though the archives in the future.

Not working for me, I am using Win2k and I have to put every directory...

I also can't use http:// includes... it doesn't seem to like those either.
