This doesn't make a lot of sense, as all you would be doing is handing the mail to sendmail on a remote machine instead of your own. Why do you think sendmail is slow? What are the symptoms? Are you running a spam list or something?
There are faster mail transfer agents (postfix, qmail) but if you're experiencing problems sending single pieces of mail with sendmail, you need to find out why and not waste time switching software.
