Another Newbie Question

Sorry for the interrupt folks, but yes, another Newbie is here. Please forgive my inacuracies/inadequacies but I have a quick question for you. First, I am just starting to 'do the PHP thing' and I wanted to try what I thought would be something relatively simple - like a 'classified ads' app. As I sat down I literally laughed myself out of my chair cuz I had no idea where to even start! LOL!!! (I am a simple xhtml coder - no previous perl, cgi, etc type programming in my blood)... oh well...

So, to make a long story less boring... Is there a good place to find 'beginner' type information?

Get a book. Since you don't have any programming experience you need some major hand holding to get some of the concepts down. There are a lot of PHP books out there now. I'd suggest that you go to your favorite book store (prefferably one with a lot of techie books). And browse through the books. Find one that builds a complete application I've found that they tend to get the concepts down best. Plus you get to work through all of the phases of building something.

If you happen to be in the San Diego area you should go to San Diego Technical Books, or visit them online at http://www.booksmatter.com/. It's the best book store.

bookpool.com always seems to have the cheapest prices for this type of thing, but there's really no better way than actually going to the bookstore and reading a chapter or two from a few different books.
