About gd.dll !

hello all!
My os is winnt4.0p6 and php version is php4.03pl2 .
now I want to use PHP_GD.DLL,so I download the php_gd_gif.dll and copy to "extensions"
and renamed "php_gd.dll" then edit "php.ini"
when I run a script it display error information. my web server is IIS4 or Apache!
who tell me why ?

it happed to me. use a new version of PHP and try it. i downloaded all over again and installed and is now working fine for me

OK,I try it ,again.but I want to known why the version I used can't working fine ,Is there any bugs?? 🙁
