I'm looking for a good PHP editor to run with X on Linux, particulary one similar to HomeSite.
Any suggestions?
emacs or jed.. they are programmable editors some ppl religiously love vi.. you could always use the fun and happy pico tho 🙂
vi
There is no alternative. If you can learn vi you can learn anything.
🙂
Bluefish or Quanta. Bluefish uses the GTK library and Quanta uses KDE.
Both "colorize" html. Quanta is better at colorizing PHP, although Bluefish's colorization might be easy to improve by tinkering with the regular-expression table. Bluefish has a built-in PHP reference, if that's important to you.

nedit... although you have to get the php colorization file seperately.

Hi,
Try JEXT, http://www.jext.org very good. Syntax colorizing for many languages (ASP, C, C++, Eiffel, Java, JSP, Perl, PHP, HTML, TeX, XML...)
