Auto loading php pages

I see that browsers load the file index.html by default. Is there any way in which I can make sure that a browser visiting my site will load index.php ?

In index.html coding :
<?
header("Location: index.php");
?>

Hi,
The simplest way is to point the URL of your home page directly to
<a href="www.yoursite.com/index.php">Open my site</a>

You can configure your web server so that index.php will load by adding it to the DirectoryIndex in the httpd.conf file...
eg.
<IfModule mod_dir.c>
DirectoryIndex index.html index.php
</IfModule>
