php/mysql and the temp file

I am setting up a very well written php program on my hosts server. They run the latest versions of Apache/Linux/PHP/MySql. The problem is the program is looking for a place to store session info and can't find it. Naturally, my host is no help(they use the old "we don't offer support for third-party" software). Here is the error message I recieve:

Warning: open(/tmp/php-ses/sess_dc35816cee5aad634d4032b84c25bb81, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in /c44/ztrau/realty/agentadmin.php on line 3

Does anyone know how to find this or set this parameter. The only thing I can find in the scripts is session().

Any help would be appreciated.

I had similar problem. The default directory to store session files is '/tmp' but you can set your own default dir . At the top of your scripts add something like that:

session_save_path("/path/you/have/permission/towrite");

this worked well for me.
