How can I pass variables

I have been assigned a project 🙁 That is a survey. This survey will be made of a number of pop up screens. One or two questions per window. The problem is I need to collect the answers from these popups and submit the data to an email address not using a CGI. Can PHP do this? Or is there something else that would work better? Coldfusion allows you to pass vars between pages, but the site I'm using doesn't have Coldfusion.

Thanks for any helps/hints on this. I've tried to use the sample on Netscapse developer page using Javascript but have had no luck in implamenting it.

Yes, I think you can use php without CGI.

you could have several choices:
1 URL Link, you can add answer to each "NEXT
QUESTION" link and at last sent them to mail
function (mail function Detail see php.net).
2 Use Cookie to save each answer and at last
call mail funtion. (client side)
3 Use session to save each user's answers, and call mail funtion finally (server side).
It
depends on your situation which one you
perferto.

It is just easy to add variables after your
html or php file, like

the first one
<a href=second.php?ans1=1?ans2=2>NEXT QUESTION</a>

the second one
<a href=third.php?ans1=$ans1?ans2=$ans2?$ans3=3?$ans4=4>NEXT QUESTION</a>

And the final one will be a form post to a php file which includes a mail function.

That way would work. A cleaner way would be to store the values in a hidden field using the same concept. That way the user wont see all the answers in the url.
