Downloading txt file

Hello,

I want to make a text file downloadable by site users.

I mean that
<a herf='kaan.txt'>kaan.txt</a>

if you click that link, your browser normally show it because txt file is known type by browsers. At that point, I want to make it downloadable, how to do that?

The only way I can think of, and probably the easiest (but probably not what you want to hear) would be to zip the text file.
