hi

i want to be able to connect to a mysql database - and update any records via a simple html form keeping in mind i got a few setect box's and dropdown menus - no idea where to start 🙂

That could take a long time. Your best bet would be to have a look at some of the articles on this site, which deal with MySQL. Alternativley you could purchase a book on PHP. Most books cover, in great detail, the subject of MySQL-PHP & Forms. I recomend 'Core PHP Programming' by Leon Aitkinson. :=)
