Get a file into a variable

Hello people, i'm from Brasil, and I dont know how to speak english very well.

Well .. my problem is the following:
i have a file called "fopen.inc" in my website. i want to make a PHP file, wich reads the content of the "fopen.inc" and prints the content of the file into the main PHP file.

look what i made:

$file = "/web/sites/142/omago/www.omago.f2s.com/teste/fopen.inc";
$fp = fopen("/web/sites/142/omago/www.omago.f2s.com/teste/fopen.inc", "r");
$variavel = fread("/web/sites/142/omago/www.omago.f2s.com/teste/fopen.inc");
echo "$variavel";
fclose($fp);
echo "I hope that this works.";
?>

so .. i tried it many times, I have made many changes on the script .. but nothing works.

the problem is in the fread statement, the format for it is:
string fread (int fp, int length)
(check: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.fread.php)

In your case, you would want:

$variavel = fread("/web/sites/142/omago/www.omago.f2s.com/teste/fopen.inc", filesize("/web/sites/142/omago/www.omago.f2s.com/teste/fopen.inc"));

$fp = fopen("file.inc","r");
$variavel = fread($fp,filesize("file.inc"));

if you just want to dump the contents of the file in your code

require("whatever.inc");

should work fine
