Forum Digest Question

Could someone please tell me what the Forum Digest on the left hand bar is?
I tried putting in my email and clicking submit but it told me I had to choose mailing lists to join.
Where and what are these "mailing" lists please?

Also, does anyone know why "Email replies to this thread, to the address above" never works for me? (Works at Devshed fine)

It'll send you all the messages for today in one mail, a nightly digest =)

Ok thanks, I tried it again ticking the text box and it works, I guess.
