You probably made a standalone installation at some point in time, and the build scripts rather crappily don't overwrite all the wonderful places that the MODULE_API can be defined... I've just spent hours tracking this down...

Check your /usr/local/include/php/Zend directory for the offending number. If its there, remove the /usr/local/include/php directory, or rename it to something else...

This worked for me. YMMV
