Statistics about PHP

I am an IT-instructor. I want to convince my superiors to switch from teaching Perl to teaching PHP. But in order to do so, I have to bring in some strong arguments. Does anybody know some websites that contain statistics that show that PHP is (becoming) more popular than Perl ? All articles that can make my case stronger are welcome.
