Hi guys, I sit possible to convert a given CSV file into an excel file in PHP and vice versa?

Generally excel will be the registered app for csv files anyway. Why change it?

Yes, if you are on windows you can use the COM extensions to do anything in excel via the Excel.Application COM object.

You'll need Excel on the machine to use the COM/OLE automation, that error sounds like you don't have Excel installed.

Yup, and if you are win 2000 with office 2000 you will have to login as the apache user and "initialize" the office install else it won't work either. It will try to display the "Configuring Microsoft Office 2000..." dialog the first time you create Excel.Application which will cause it to fail.

ya thanx... that was real foolish of me... I had some other application in which I open the xls file..but not excel..(PC SUITE or something) so i thought it mitew open it in it... Thanx neways..
