is it possible to open a constant connection with a mysql database from a client software and "watch" a particular table so that the client will be notified, or preferbly be also reflected on the client software, when any changes (eg. INSERT, UPDATE) are made to that table?
help please!!

I don't think, but never know.

But you can do something like this.

you made the software?
if yes when you insert or update make an another insert in a table let's say "watch".

Then you make a secure page and you can se what changes had made to your database.

Or you can send an email when changes are made. But if you have a lot of changes you will have to read a lot of emails and I don't think that you will enjoy it.
