I compiled php v4.0.6 --with-sockets and its showing up in the phpinfo(), but it still tells me socket() can't be found. Anyone have any ideas of anything else I should have to do? It also can't find bind() or listen() if it helps.

Hmm, the manual page overview for the low-level sockets functions says the flag is --enable-sockets
