Netscape 4.75 blinks twice...

Hi All!

Netscape 4.75 blinks twice when displaying a new PHP page.

Starting with the PHP only recently, I guess this feature is already well-known to the community.

I close my script with exit() or die() -- regardless of any, it is still the same.

Well NS 4.x is one of the worst browsers for me. I'm using Mozilla 9.2!

Your Problem - I think - is just a Netscape flaw. In your special Case it has to do with the Styleesheet in the header. For exaple:
Netscape 4.x blinks too, when you add a XML-styl header like: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//DE">
But by now means this is a PHP Problem!

I also had this problem with Netscape, though I believe it may have been an earlier version.

I managed to fix the problem by removing the 'Content Type' META Tag.

Selectively removing both lines <!DOCTYPE... and <META HTTP-... I managed to eliminate the double blinking of Netscape 4.75 on PHP pages. Hey! It blinks only once! 🙂
