Win32 PHP4 Sockets

I'm new to php, so please don't bite, this is mostly likely a really stupid question. How would I go about installing socket support on a Windows 2000 machine. I am trying to run the sample server and client in the help file but I receive the error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: socket() in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\server.php on line 12

Chances are I haven't initialized socket support correctly. Any ideas on how I would go about to do that?

Zipping on over to the php.net website, I see that socket() is experimental and only found in versions 4.0.2 - 4.0.6.

Do you have a PHP version that supports socket()?

Dont hold me to this, but I think that the Win32 binary provided on the PHP site does not have socket support built in (or an extension that enables it)

If I am correct, you will have to compile your own copy, enabling socket functions at compile time.

Oh I see... i have 4.06 installed, so how would I go about compiling it for win32?
