I haven't started yet, but I'd like to use PHP on a hosted Linux system with an English OS.
I'd like to use Shift-JIS.
Does MySQL need to be configured a specific way with language settings -- I would only have access to one DB instance of a general English MySQL installation.
What about PHP settings -- PHP 4 supports Japanese -- what does that mean?
What about doing searches? Are there problems or tips about things that I should know about?
