Is there a way for php to detect when the users closes his/her browser, or leaves the page?

dont think...
the php is server side when u close yr browser u rise a client side event... try with js...
onunload may can help u...
onunload=window.open('phppage.php');
and in the php page ull do what u need like a db access... but i really dont like this solution.... it remember to me the xxx stuff... when u cant close a page without open 3 others heheehe

yeah i hate those, what I was thinking of doing was deleting information from a mysql db on exit of the page. Thanks for your help.

im not really sure what you are exactly trying to do, but i would just give each SQL entry a timeout constant (like 10 minutes) and have some script delete these entries after the timeout value has been reached. (current visitors counter?)

Hi Jake and Morphy . I am ruchi.
I want to get help from you.Because Ihave an problem with php. Let's say my problem.
Problem:1)I am always reterieve data from the database in the table. but now i want to reterieve data in the textfields in the form. for example i have and product table in my database. when i will give the productnumber in productnumber textfields . the corrosponding data related in that productnumber will be given in the othes textfeilds insteadof any table.
please give me this solution as soon as possible i am in trouble in my project .
