Hi, I'm a php beginner. I need some help about the editors. Which one should I choose dreamwever or homesite. I am quite familiar with homesite , but I think all good web developers use Dreamweaver(or they MUST use it in the company they work.) I downloaded a trial versions of Dreamweaver4 and Dreamawever Ultradev but in both cases I can not have special php words highlighted with all the plugins which i have downloaded later.In homesite everything is ok..Why does everyone use Dreamweaver ?
I use DW for graphical layout of the site....
for real code, i switch to homesite or phped

shudder Next you'll be asking how to set up PHP and Frontpage. I'll just nip off and shoot myself.
I use EditPlus, an editor with modular syntax highlighting. Beyond that, what do you need? Heck, notepad works just fine. Don't be lazy.

dreamweaver is fine for the layout but is worthless when you try to code something.
i use coldfusion studio (which is just like homesite) to do php

Like most everyone else....
I use FireWorks to design the layout, than Dreamweaver to turn it into HTML, than I use EditPlus to do my PHP coding.
Later.
I use Photoshop & Imageready to create the images, the rest is handcoded using UltraEdit.
FYI, designers use Dreamweaver, developers use their favourite texted!
Amen.
This may sound suprising, but I like to use graphical vim.
