Hi
I'm talking to a new ISP about a reseller acount. My problem is that they limit me to two Databases per virtualhost.

One of my sites has six, one for each content section.

Is this reasonable, should I try to keep all my content tables in one DB or find another ISP?

I'd like a seperate MySQL server per site, is this an unreasonable request?

Splitting up data into several databases is only for clarity's sake. It doesn't help for performance inless you can host each database on a different server. (physically)

If there's only one physical server, then you might as well store all the data in one database.

I think a limit of two databases is fair-ish, as most people won't need more than that. But when people do need more, the ISP should comply (perhaps for a fee)

Well, If your configure your namespace correctly for the tables you should only really 'require' 1 database, using the second db as a development platform to test new code on. or possible backup incase the first one goes dead.
