Does anyone know of any free image conversion software? Something that could change .gifs to .bmp and back again?
Look at the package ImageMagick if you are on a unix based system:
http://www.imagemagick.org/
Use the binary /usr/X11R6/bin/convert to convert between (nearly) any image format.
