can please someone explain what this is all about .. what is it good etc etc..

I looked at sites, but I would like to get info from someone thats allready using it.

I'm not using it, but I've been thinking about it. Basically what it is, and what it is good for is building desktop applications using PHP, instead of web based.

I was looking into building a database interface program using PHP and PHP-GTK for use on my Gnome desktop.

That's what PHP-GTK is, it's the Gnome Tool Kit ported to work with PHP.
