Look, his reply might have been a little jocular, but in fact this isn't a perl site, folks here might not know much in the way of perl, and some of them actually object if we talk about perl too much. (I've gotten flamed for posting a bit of perl a while back.). There is, of course, a lot of stuff on the web related to perl, so I would expect you could find a number of similar sites related to perl. (Alas, I'm not really doing anything with perl at the moment, so I don't know where the good places are.)
