URGENT - MySQL table selections

I need to select data from a column in a mysql and only get results that start with specific letters. So that I can list all things starting with A, B, C, etc, on separate pages. Please Reply ASAP because I really need to get this done tonight. Thanks!

You can use expressions in sql.

SELECT * FROM tablename WHERE filedname like "a%"
