Problems with phpinfo() half working

I've recently been trying to get the phpinfo() function on our web server to function properly. I have tried using the phpinfo([number]) that someone mentioned in the docs. I've looked through the php.ini... nothing I can think of will give me the information I need (what, exactly, php was compiled with).

Any and all help is appreciated!

just phpinfo() gives you everything there is doesn't it?

How did you install your php? Was it come with Unix/Linux software package or you download from the web?
If the phpinfo() is not working, usually I check the configuration of file httpd.conf.
If you install php from scratch, then you determine what other packages that you want to compile with php, for example, mySQL, myapxs, unixODBC, iODBC, etc.

phpinfo() is working, for the most part.

Basically, we have two set-ups where only the Apache server variables are showing up (no other options).

Both are running RH7.1, one with the stock php/mysql setup, the other with a compiled-source update to 4.0.5. (which I didn't do and can't track down the guy who did)

I am assuming that they are both pretty stock installs, but I still want to know WHY I cannot get phpinfo() to display much. Could the distro be compiled that way?

If you want php info display more, you could change your configuration on file httpd.conf, or you could recompile it again.
Httpd.conf has some information for your php variables and environment.
If you want to compile it, then you can go to php directory and configure php with options that you want. If you compile it with odbc, then ODBC info will show on your phpinfo() page.
