I was wondering if there was a way in PHP or other scripting to poll a users cookies and pull information from a related site.
eg. We have 2 sites, SiteA.com and SiteB.com. Both are hosted on the same server, utilize the same database. We require users to register separately on both sites. We would like the ability to track the individual user across both sites without them knowing that both sites are affiliated. One solution would be setting cookies to both sites, but we don't want to overwrite any cookies that are already set.
Seems convoluted, but it's kind of a pissing contest, they want to work together but at the same time remain apart.
If I could sniff the cookies to see if SiteA or SiteB have their cookies set, it'd be good.
