I have a website with about 50 albums. All the albums have their own folders and inside the folders they have the real player files.

I want to convert these boring html pages into a dynamic php script that needs to list all the albums on the page and then the person can click on the album to see the songs under that album.

I am new to php but have some experience with c++. My question is how do i go about storing information about each album and even each song of that album? I want to store the name of the album, song, author, the # of times it was listened and other stuff later.

I dont know how to use mySQL.

Do i make an array for all albums?
Strings?
Text files?
linked lists?
any other ones i dont know about?

If u know of any scripts that already do something similar i can modify it to fit my needs.

What would I do? I'd learn MySQL.
But if you're not willing to do that, you could try a text file with a unique delimiter. You'll need the file commands (check php.net fopen, fclose, fwrite etc) and array and string modifications like explode, implode etc (again with php.net)

Don't do a quick fix. Learn Mysql and PHP and do it properly.

Can i get a copy of the script u r using. your page is not exactly what i had in mind but it is pretty similar. I want to see if i can change it.

Check the source code link from the main page. myshows_template.phps is the one that shows my list but it is VERY complicated. I have many scripts on that site and the whole of the scripts are not public yet.

There is no easy way to do it.

As somebody put it

Do it!
Do it right!
Do it right now!

Bottom line is the site that you need requires database running as the backend.

You need to learn
1. PHP
2. MySql
3. SQL
4. Some client side technologies (CSS, JavaScript...)

Truly dynamic sites require database and well written APIs.
