Problem:
My site provides a resource where viewers can take screenshots of their X11 Desktops, upload them, then an admin on my site can approve the desktop, which places it on http://www.linuxfreak.org/xdesktops.php
The entire thing is done via two php scripts, one which displays the graphic (http://www.linuxfreak.org/ximg.php) and one that lets an admin approve the image... Now my problem is, some of the desktops are 1280x1024 and above or below that screen size..this makes for a rather large image.. right now and as you can see on the xdesktops page, it takes a while to load even with a broadband connection, My goal is to resize the images on the fly using GD.. the only problem I see is some of the images are .png, some are .gif, and some are .jpg... So how would I go about doing this easily? or even at all? without any local access to the machine needed by other admins incharge of this section..
