reading text files via ftp + access db

i've been requested to create a app that will get txt/log files from ftps and enter them into a access db,
i just got assigned it today and was thinking i could use the ftp browing features of php to get and then do fread to parse the docs in to arrays and enter the data into the access db from their.

somebody help and let me know if i'm on the right path and any pointers or suggestions you may have thanks.

Well, if you want to enter each line from the text log file into a seperate row in the access database, then I'd say you're on the right track.
