Hi Guys
I've finally got my Linux system connected to the net and the first thing I notice is that this forom (and site for that matter) looks like poo in NS6.1?
Is it just me or is that a little odd?

It's not just you, NS6.1 is poo.
It seems the netscape boys did not learn from the 6.0 'disaster'.

Mmmm... Can't say I'm surprised. Can you recommend a browser for Linux Vincent? I have 4.76 and kónqueror of course but perhaps you have an idea I might try?

This site looks godawful in Mac IE5 and N6 too.

A lot of it is down to how the text seems to be handled in the HTML. In a lot of articles, I can't fit the whole thing on the screen at once, because the text is so big - and I'm on a 1280x1024 resolution.

I use Microsoft's IE on my Solaris box. I am not sure if IE is available for linux. Try:

I am viewing this page in NS 6.1 (Windows 2000).

The only problem that I notice is that the tabs on the top look a little funny. Overall though, I'd say that 6.1 works a LOT better than 6.0. 6.0 really stunk.

It seems to be too much of a coincidence that NS started stinking not long after AOL bought them... hmmm...

Yes it is better and you're right about the tabs, In my RedHat system netscape 6.1 has frozen a few times! I'm very unimpressed, of course it could be something I've done but I don't think so. I'm currently using Opera 5.3 which is just beautiful, quick smooth, and highly customizeable.
