URL Security

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what alternatives there are to passing a variable from one page to another over a URL (i.e. ?username=whatever), as obviously, this gets recorded in logs and such, and is visible in the browser window.

I need the MOST secure method (HTTPS not available) for doing this, but ALL suggestions are welcome.

Use the POST method in your forms or store the variables in session data in a database or file on the server.
