You can install Windows98 within Linux and use all of your standard windows apps. It will also make windows run faster!!

http://www.mozila.org by far 🙂 Mozilla is (as of the nightlies starting 8/1) my main browser for windows and my secondary for linux. My first for linux is actually konqueror, which I'm growing to love more and more every release 🙂 But if you want standards, go mozilla. Just know that it is still not quite there performance wise on linux yet, although it is nearly as fast (or sometimes faster) than ie on windows.

That sounds like a salespitch, Ed. 🙂 Perhaps a good answer to your question ("Why not .. ?") is because it costs $90.00! $80 if you prefer to download it and forego the printed docs. VMWare is quite a lot more "tried-and-true", and the "Express" version costs $50 (sadly, though, the "Workstation" version costs a whopping $300). Better still would be something free. That's where Plex86 ( http://www.plex86.org ) comes in, but they've yet to get their act together -- Win95 apparently boots, but I'm not sure how much else it does.

konqueror is good at drawing html pages... but it's terrible with javascript... i don't even think it can understand

as for mozzilla... it sucks with the HTML...
IE is the most compatible and good with javascripts.... I have to admit that Bill rulez 🙂 (just for the browser....)
