i'm using Win2000 and IIS-5, and i want to use php and mysql to validate users by a login and password.
i'm very new to php and databases, and i need to understand if i can do this on the mentioned setup and if so, a step by step how-to.
i'm a complete newbie to server-side scripting and database interaction. i've looked into classes at my community college, but they don't teach php at all, so it leaves me rather stuck...
the coding should be written as basically as possible, so i can learn to understand it.
if anyone can or would help me, i'd really appreciate it.
