I have a archive of documents stored as the following: yyyymmdd.php in a folder on my webserver.
eks:
20010522.php
20010423.php
20010421.php
etc

And I wonder: How can I create a archive that automaticly creates a link to each of these files, and creates a special link to the most recent file?

f.eks:
latest: 22. mai 2001 (with a link)

Can anybody help me? please!

just an thought on that:

do a loop that reads in the filenames in your directory -> see "dir" object in php.net.

if you need the dates, open the files with fopen and read their last modification dates with this function: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.filemtime.php

in the loop, set a variable $mostrecent_time to the date provided by the function if it's higher than the old value stored in $mostrecent_time.
in this case, set $mostrecent_filename to the file name.

after that, do:

echo "latest: <a href=$mostrecent_filename>".date("d. m. Y", $mostrecent_time)."</a>";

that's it.
