Making a Simple Search Engine

I am trying to make a simple search engine but am not sure where to start .. Can some one point me in the right direction on what code should be used and where i should start.

I want to make so it will search threw a paragraph of text looking for key words.. Can that be done??

I have just finished a search engine for a well known company and my choice of language was Perl + MySQL DB.

Perl has many robot modules, i suggest you use these to save a lot of work.

perl is good, but it's not PHP. :-)
