Hello. I need to know how to count the number of entries in a database table. I am building a reviews system for my sci-fi/fantasy web site at http://www.ekkocom.com/fnn/ and want to list the TOTAL number of reviews submitted to the site. Book reviews are in one table, movie reviews in another, and game reviews in another. How can I count them and add them up to have the total displayed like:

STATS

Reviews: X (X=number of total reviews)

Please help me out. I have looked all over the place on how to do this.

Only thing I can think of offhand is three "select count(*)..." statements--one for each table. Add the result.

yeah, or unless your querying the table, you could just do a mysql_num_rows($queryvariable);
