Does anybody know about any WYSIWYG PHP editors for Windows, that are available for download as freeware or trialversion??

Ugh. Some people will do anything, it seems, to avoid actually learning a language. PHP is a superbly easy language to write beautiful code in. If you actually give it a chance and read the documentation at php.net, you'll be off the ground in no time. Use a good text editor with syntax highlighting (I recommend TextPad - www.textpad.com) and you'll be in great shape. Hell, what would a WYSIWYG PHP editor look like? An animated paperclip popping up that says:

"It looks like you're trying to print a value. Would you like to have me go to all the trouble of writing the ever-challenging 'print()' statement for you?"

Oh.. sorry.. i was a little fast when reading the first article..

I'm looking for a php script that make use of IE's WYSIWYG DHTML-component for editing/posting news or articles.

I was more thinking like macromedia dreamweaver ultradev which does ASP...

I use the very good HTML-kit. It supports and have lots of plugin-functions for PHP. dreamweaver supports the php-format and is a good alternative. Personaly do i use frontpage to create the layout, then copy the HTML-source to HTML-kit and then edit the rest there.

HTML-kit is freeware and i think it is one of the best editors for the web but it is not perfect for WYSIWYG-editing.

I think Uatec asked a valid question. There is nothing less 'macho' about a WYSIWYG editor. I have used so called 4GL developers for years; DataFlex, PowerFlex, DBase are all 4GL developers. They are used to shorten development time. The majority of business applications are based on a database back-end and I would venture to say that I could develop a COMPLETE application in DataFlex in a lot less time than you could write the same program by hand in Textpad.

Once the application is developed, you can then use your supreme knowledge of the language to 'fine-tune' it.

It's no different than using air-impact tools to work on an automobile and then fine-tuning it with your small precision hand tools.

So instead of putting an individual down for wanting to learn more about the resources available why don't you just answer the question? I would like to know also...
