How do I put a page on my site that when a person enters my reg URL, they get directed to the page I specify. I have always used this script:

to our entrance page /
exit; / Make sure that code below does
not get executed when we redirect. /

And never had any problems. I named the page index.php, and it gives me:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Apache/1.3.14 Server at www.russellit.com Port 80
What am I doing wrong?
