Time???

hi there,

i was just wondering, how to realize the following:

a news-script, which can be fed with news via e-mails.
BUT how can i tell my news-script to check the mail every 10 mins. (for example!)?

• put the whole stuff in an if-clause? ...but that would take to much processor-time/power, wouldnt it?

• make a html-file, which auto-updates itself every x minutes via <reload>? ...but then i would have to leave a PC running with that site in its browser!

...what else could i do???
is there any other possibility to tell my script to check the mail every x-minutes??
How would u do it??

If you have a Linux/Unix machine and know how to set up a crontab job, you can set Lynx to "visit" your page every ten minutes. I've got a specific example around here someplace. If you can't figure it out, drop me a line and I'll drop more specific instructions.
