Format an email? Urgent help Required!

Hi there.

I am required to finalise a quote for a client regarding formatting an email sent to 60 columns wide.

Is there a way to do this without having to search for a space at or around the 60 character mark in the mail string and insert a newline?

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. Thankyou.
