quick question to all database and template users;

Okay, the ideal is to keep your page content in unformatted text on you DB and then to whizz that through a template when the page handler calls it right?

So just how unformatted can you get it? I'm talking specifically about contextual links in the text like "this is unformatted <a href="somelink.org">but this is not</a>

Is there a way around this or do you all do as I do which is to keep the text 'pretty much' unformatted?

Just wondered if anyone had any interesting opinions on this topic 🙂

well, you can use xml. or you can make your own tags, build a library, then ereg_replace() everything before shoving it in a template and printing it. or, keep doing it like you are. doesn't really matter. just as long as it makes sense to you.

Thanks Chris, I'd thought about xml or creating tags, I think for the moment it makes more sense to continue as I am and then strip out the HTML if I need to display the text in any other format.
