I am in need of information about using cookies to create log-in capabilities for online services. I work with a library that has a site license for several online reference services. I am not familiar with 'smart cookies', but was told that these services would require us to send cookies with IP addresses to identify the computer being used. I was also told that this would be a good option for allowing the students to log onto the sites without having to key in very long and sometimes tedious passwords and logins. Has anyone ever used this before? Can you offer any help on how to do this? Any information would be GREATLY appreciated! 🙂
